We are hiring graduate planners to join us in September 2015. You will be supporting the Planning and Development team with planning applications and projects whilst working towards achieving MRTPI qualification through the APC Structured Training Scheme.
Main tasks include:
- Working with planning, development and agency colleagues on advising on the potential of land, sites and buildings;
- Undertaking desktop research to support projects and reports, and inform Local Plan Examinations in Public;
- Drafting planning statements, and assisting with submission and negotiation of planning applications and appeals;
- Assisting with development plan monitoring and submission of representations;
- Assisting with town centre studies, health checks, site appraisals and using our in-house Geographic Information System;
- Attending & contributing to Design Team meetings;
- Assisting with other general professional work; and
- Working diligently towards achieving MRTPI qualification, through the APC Structured Training Scheme
Some Examples of this year’s projects include:
- Submission of an application for a factory outlet centre in Cannock
- Permission for the 20,000-seater Brentford Community Stadium to including 910 residential units.
- Promotion of land at North Abingdon for 800 dwellings through the Local Plan process
- Advising on a major mixed use regeneration scheme in Hounslow Town Centre.
- Representations to various Community Infrastructure Levy consultations, including recent attendance at the Wokingham CIL Examination
- New campus for ARM Holdings, involving the construction of 200,000sqft of new offices in the Cambridge green belt
- New train station and interchange in North Cambridge
- New six screen cinema, restaurants and leisure centre in Ely
- Leisure development and 45,00sqft spa extension at Rudding Park Hotel, a grade 1 listed house and parkland in the Green belt
New operating base for Yorkshire Air Ambulance at Nostell Priory, Wakefield in the green belt
Residential land promotion involving over 5,000acres across Yorkshire
